Olive's First Birthday Party

We are so blessed to have the most amazing family and friends! We celebrated Olive's birthday on Saturday with a party at her favorite place, the park! We were so thankful that so many people were able to celebrate her special day with us. We had an "olive" themed birthday party. Everything was green and red and centered on her name. My sweet friend, Shannon, volunteered to take pictures during the party so that we didn't have to worry about it. They are great! Thank you Shannon!

Here we are ready for the festivities to begin!
Cutest birthday girl EVER (in my opinion)
The favor table
Bubbles for the kiddos, "olive" rice krispy treats and cookies for everyone
*My sweet friend Jules made the most delicious sugar cookies that were perfect little olives. They were AMAZING!!*

We had ordered a cake and when Honey went to pick it up, it was terrible (to say the least). You can ask Honey for the hysterical details if you would like, but I will not post how inappropriate looking it was on the "family blog". So at 1:00 Saturday afternoon, Super Daddy, went to the Walmart bakery and they were able to create an olive cake for us. Anyone who knows Stephen well, knows that for him to step foot into Walmart, it was a real emergency!
I thought cake #2 turned out pretty cute!

Cupcakes for the guests

Let's play!

Cash showing Olive how to go down the slide.

Whee!!

Avery and Nolan hanging out on the bridge.

We were so thankful to be surrounded by friends and family. I wish we could have gotten pics of her with everyone, but of course that didn't happen. Here are a few.

Pop, Daddy and Olive
Dano and Honey
The Guncles

Misty, Eleanor, Mommy and Olive
(Misty and I can't figure out why they can't take a good picture together!)
The Beverages and The Links

Deanna, Jules and Traci

Andrea, sweet baby Ava, Mommy and Olive

She was also so blessed to get so many great gifts. For a girl who didn't need a thing, she got some great new toys and clothes! Here she is opening presents.

"Mommy! You've got to be kidding me! More presents!"

Now it is time for cake!

"Hmmm...what is that?"

WARNING: The next few pictures may cause you to go into shock because not only did she touch the cake, she devoured it and got it all over herself! I couldn't have been more suprised!! I thought the second she felt it, she would be done.

I think we can safely assume she likes cake!!
After using 5 q-tips and a lot of scrubbing in the bath tub after the party, she woke up Sunday morning with icing still in her ear! Holy mess!

All in all, it was the perfect day. Yes, we could have hoped for a little cooler weather and a few less flies, but Olive had fun and so we know it was perfect. Thank you so much to everyone who came to celebrate our sweet girl!
