13 months

Olive turned 13 months old on Monday! It doesn't seem possible! Our little one is quite the mover so this is the best shot I could get in the rocking chair.

Here is a little of what she is up to these days:

*Still VERY active...the only time she isn't moving is when she is sleeping.

*Giggles and fake laughs at anyone else who is laughing, of course she always assumes they are laughing at her.

*Still a picky eater. She is eating vegetables pretty well, with broccoli being her favorite. Most meats or "mixed" dishes are a no go. Fruits she prefers dry so that she can pick them up with her fingers. Toast and bread have become a staple. She could eat her weight in bread!

*She is saying several words and phrases, such as "Hi (fill in D, Dada, Dave, or guys), Dog, Bri-Bri (which we think is Wrigley), thank you, pretty, good girl, Bye bye, Tede (Terri), Mama (very rarely), yum, all done and more." She can mimick a lot of words which means we must be very selective with our words around here!

*She is just a bundle of fun right now. She loves being chased and hiding under the kitchen table. She laughs and screams and has a great time. Every stage we get to, we think this is so great, I don't want her to get bigger, but it keeps getting better and better! Maybe she could stay 13 months forever...

A Perfect Sunday Evening

The weather was BEAUTIFUL this evening, so we decided to ride our bikes over to the "Orange Tree" frozen yogurt and try it out. When we had tried to give Olive frozen yogurt earlier in the summer, she wouldn't even consider trying it, so we wanted to give it another try.
(Of course, our camera batteries died when we got there, so all of the pictures were taken on our phones. It is very obvious to me now that the I phone 4's camera is AMAZING compared to the Iphone 3, see if you can pick the picture that was taken with the 4)

Playing on the table
"Hmm...I think I like this."
"Yep, I like it!"

She wasn't very patient in between bites! PLEASE!!
She gobbled down almost half of Stephen's "Coffee Lovers" yogurt and didn't really care for my "White Chocolate" so I got to eat it all myself! :)

Boomer Sooner!

Football season kicked off with a bang yesterday! Game days in Norman are always exciting, you can just feel it in the air. We opted to stay home and watch the game on TV. Pop came down to watch it with us and "Chef Stevie" made some delicious steaks for the boys and a yummy hot dog for me. We had a great time relaxing and watching it together. We hoped for the Sooners to look a little better than they did, but we had a good time anyways.
Olive thinks her new job is "remote controller"
She had to take a few play breaks here and there :)
High fives

Run Olive Run!

Today Olive decided to sleep until 10:00 this morning, yes 10:00!! She was so energized and still fired up at 7:30 when I got home from parent night. We were wondering if we could wear her out to try to stay on some sort of "bedtime schedule". She loves to play in our hallway and to have Stephen chase her, here is a little peek into this super fun game! After about 30 minutes of this, she was finally a little more calm!

Vroom Vroom!!

Olive got a "new ride" and she thinks it is pretty special! We go around the block and if we stop, she stands up and pulls on the steering wheel while grunting. It is like she is saying "If you're not first, you're last!" Ha ha!!
We decided to stop and visit Pop for a few minutes. I think this picture is so funny because she is staring at the door waiting for him to open it. "Pop! Where are you?"

Her favorite thing to do at Pop's house is to play with the door stoppers in the entry way. She hung out for a few minutes and then went straight for them. She just sits in there and giggles.

What a fun night! Thanks Gigi for my new ride, I love it!

Ride That Pony

For Olive's birthday, Dano worked really hard on a very special project! The rocking horse! This horse belonged to my Granny when she was a little girl and I remember playing with it when we would go visit Granny. I have always thought that it was the neatest thing. When I found out I was pregnant, I immediately started talking to my Dad about restoring the horse. He sanded it all down and painted it back the original color. I think it looks perfect! Olive wasn't so sure about it the first few times she sat in it, but now she loves it! Thank you Dano and Honey!

Old McDonald Had A Farm

Olive got this great puzzle from our friends, the Mashburns, for her birthday. She loves taking the animals out and playing with them. The other night, Stephen sat down to try to help her put it back together.

"Here is where the cow goes."

"Yeah! I did it!"
She was so proud of herself for putting it in the right spot. I am sure the cheering and clapping Stephen and I were doing added to the enthusiasm of the moment.
Great job smart girl!
