"Baby Stella, I Yuv You!"

Olive got Baby Stella for her birthday and she goes through spells of being a really great "mommy" to Stella and then not so much. Lately she has been all about taking care of Stella. She carries her around and loves on her all the time. "Here go Stella"

This may look like she is giving Stella CPR, but it is really a kiss!

Grammy Blanket

You know those days when you feel really crummy and all you want is your favorite blanket? Olive had one of those days on Sunday. She had been up most of the night with what we are calling the "stomach plague" and she still wasn't great the next morning. We had washed all of her bedding and I pulled it out of the dryer and she spotted and grabbed her "Grammy blanket" and carried it around with her for the rest of the day.
Stephen's mom loved babies, i mean LOVED babies. As Stephen's friends started having children, Tami started knitting these beautiful blankets for all of the babies. She also made them for new babies who were born at the Ponca City hospital. They are so beautiful and soft. When we announced we were pregnant, we had so many special friends offer to give us the blankets she had made for their children. But luckily, she had extras on hand that she kept "just in case" someone needed one and they were all girl colors. So Olive has her very own collection of "Grammy blankets" and no one else had to give theirs up. She sleeps with it every night and it is obviously a great comfort to her.

Where's Olive?

There she is!

I asked her to give the blanket a kiss and this is what I got...
She loves it!

Bike Ride to the Park

We rode our bikes over to the park a few evenings ago to enjoy the beautiful weather! I, I mean, Olive can't get enough of the First Baptist Park! It is so much fun!

"Choo Choo!" She heard a train and went flying toward the fence, so she and Daddy
tried to get a closer look.
This sweet girl LOVES to swing!

And she went down the "big" slide all by herself!
Look how accomplished she looks!

Bye Bye Park! See you soon!

Opening Day!

Opening Day of baseball season is every Cub's fans best day. It is the start of a new season, maybe THE season where the Cubbies can make it to the World Series. Olive was geared up and ready to cheer for the Cubbies!

Let's Go Cubbies!

Daddy's Little Barista

Olive has become a very big helper around here. If she wants to help us do something she says "I hay-lp" in the sweetest voice ever! Her favorite things to help with are feeding Wrigley and making coffee with Daddy. If she hears Stephen making coffee, she will run into the kitchen from wherever she is and insist that she gets to help. Getting water
Pour it in
Pour in the coffee
And the best part, pushing the button!
We have our own little barista! Thanks for all of your help Olive Kay!

DIY by the kinders

I have a very creative group of kindergartners in my class this year. They are constantly creating things out of paper...make up compacts, recycle bins, boats, the list goes on and on. A couple of weeks ago, they decided to start making things for me to take home to Olive. This trend started simple with little pictures and cards and then grew and grew. One day they asked me if she knew her numbers, when I told them that she knew her numbers up to 10, they decided to make her a hopscotch rug to practice going to 24. They glued the piece of paper together and wrote each number on their own. They were so proud when they finished! I brought it home to show her and she loved it! At first she just walked on it saying the numbers out loud.
Then I showed her how to jump from number to number and she gave that a try!
Even Daddy got in on the action!

They also made her a purse that had different pieces of jewelry in it. She wasn't really sure what to think about the jewelry, but she loves the purse!

They have a dress for her in the works! We will see what they come up with next!

First Zoo Trip of the Season

A few weeks ago, we met our precious friends, the Sullivans, for a day of fun at the OKC zoo. We had such a great time!
Checking out the prairie dogs
and the bearsand the Olive exhibit!
The highlight of the day was definitely the playground! I always wonder how kids can play at any old playground and then you go to the zoo to see animals and all they want to do is play at the playground?! It is a really neat playground though, and they had so much fun!Olive absolutely adores Avery! They had so much fun playing together!

Cheese! Olive, Avery, Luke and some random girl who jumped in!
Luke and Avery are great at the monkey bars!

The final exhibit we got to see was the new Elephant Exhibit. It is very impressive! We were all very tired and hot by the time we made it to the top so no one was all that excited to see the elephants...maybe next time.
Avery and Luke on the big gorillas
Olive was already passed out so she had to miss that pic!
Thank you for the fun day Sullivans! Can't wait to do it again soon!
